David Arthur Jones McGeorge has been drawing cartoons and illustrations since 1975. His most recent feature, Sub, concerns the daily trials of a bright, talented good-looking young man who holds an advanced degree but has to earn his daily bread as a substitute teacher.
His cartoons artwork has appeared in the Hoffrel Echo, the Broad River Post, the Brien McMahon High School Scribbles, the UCONN Daily Campus, the Stamford High School Round Table, the Fitch High School Scarlet Tanager, the New London Oasis. In college, he was the staff cartoonist on the SoutherNews, Southern Connecticut State University’s student newspaper. There, he illustrated advertisements for local businesses, drew editorial cartoons and contributed his comic own strips.
He has illustrated children's books, a satire on aging, designed logos and clip art for Connecticut-based companies, teaching aids for schools in Cairo, Egypt, labels for domestic wines, party invitations, and posters.
He has taught cartooning to both children and adults, and served as creative assistant on the editorial panel Lurie’s World. Mr. McGeorge currently lives in East Providence, Rhode Island. |
